Lake Erie - Walleye Country
Lake Erie is known as the walleye capital of the world. Each year millions of walleye are caught from these waters. Lake Erie and the Niagara River has some of the best freshwater fishing the world has ever seen. The Niagara River acts as a conduit between the Great Lakes of Erie and Ontario, which joins two fishing meccas, which are second to none as far as diversity and quality of fish. You can fish here all year long, but May starts the walleye, northern pike, pickerel, and tiger muskellunge seasons. Smallmouth bass starts in April. There are a growing number of bass fishing tournaments that you can enter also.
